It’s possible to have your own personal library in your own room. You don’t have to build a complete real library for your book collections. In fact, you can avoid having a library sensation and atmosphere if you prefer to do so. Because, some people may think library is boring and quite intimidating. Thus, they prefer to have a usual living room or personal room with some stack of non-intimidating books. This is a wise choice, especially if you have a small space. Here are some ideas of home library design small space.
Choose deep red as the main tone in your small library. Cover the wall with deep red wallpaper, choose a small cozy sofa with recliner in vibrant red, place two usual chairs in light brown color, put on a red and brown colored pattern carpet on the floor, one chandelier above the sofa and one standing lamp between one set of chairs stated before, one huge wooden closed shelves for your book collections, and one standing ceiling length open home library bookcases. For the ceiling, paint in with map look to represent knowledge and wisdom. Choose one wall canvas art to be hung in one side of your wall.
For more spacious room, it’s recommended to have wooden furniture and rustic look for home library furniture. It will promote warmth and welcoming atmosphere in your room. Facing a huge wooden fireplace, place one set of comfy chair in deep brown tones. Upon its plastered wooden floor, place a huge rug with light brown color and pattern. Make sure the entire wall is made out of wood as well. Hang a wooden frame picture above the fireplace. And as the main point of this room, place a huge wooden shelf for your book collections, filled one side of your room.
When it comes to furniture items, make sure you remove unnecessary things. In a library, it only needs one set of comfy seats to read, be it sofa, couch, or chairs, sufficient lighting, so it’s possible for you to read even in the late at night, and of course, some bookshelves for your book collections. Have some huge bookshelves and leave some much space in them in order to avoid getting library intimidating atmosphere. On the contrary, if you’re proud of being bookworm, fill every space of you wall with books, be it in hanging bookshelves, or in standing racks.
